Aveneus Shenzhen Overview and Global Network

Avenues Shenzhen is part of a global school network. Other campuses are in New York, São Paulo, and Silicon Valley. The network previously included an online campus called Avenues Online, now rebranded as Aeon School, which operates independently

The network has a policy called "One Admission, All Campuses." When your child joins Avenues Shenzhen, they also get entry access to every other Avenues campus. This is a big deal for families who may move in the future.

Students can also join a campus exchange program. They can study at another campus for a short time. No one needs to make a full transfer. This kind of option is rare in international schools.

The campus is at A18, SoFun Land, 133 Tangxing Road, Nanshan District. The building was once an industrial warehouse. Avenues turned it into a modern learning space. This is a strong example of adaptive reuse—giving old buildings new life. Tanglang Mountain sits outside. The school calls it an "urban oasis."

Inside, you will find learning pods, open studios, and a library and media innovation center. There are also science labs and 23 spaces for music, drama, and art. Outside, there are 3,659 square meters of sports areas and a rooftop play area of 1,896 square meters. A school bus service covers most parts of Shenzhen.

In late 2025, the school opened its boarding program. It is open to students in Grade 6 and above. Each boarding student gets two mentors—one for schoolwork and one for daily life.

Avenues World Elements Curriculum

Avenues curriculum is based on its proprietary Avenues World Elements (AWE), not IB, AP, or A-Level programs.

An R&D team at the New York "Tiger Works" studio built this program. They worked with 31 experts from places like NASA, Harvard, and Stanford. It took seven years to complete.

AWE covers 65 learning goals. These fall into six areas: thinking skills, social skills, communication, creativity, action, and global awareness. Students do not read about these skills; they practice them through real projects.

At the early childhood stage, learning is play-based. As students grow, the approach shifts to project-based learning (PBL). Students solve real problems. They cross subject lines. They design, test, and present.

Even in high school, Chinese stays active. Students take a course called Chinese Liberal Arts. It covers language, history, and culture. Students discuss and ask questions. They leave school with near-native skills in both languages.

All native English teachers come from the US, UK, Canada, or Australia. About two-thirds of all teachers studied at a top 50 global university. Over 60% hold a master's degree or higher. The average teacher has 8.8 years of experience.

Secondary Programs and the HKDSE Pathway

In Grades 6 to 9, students follow the Avenues curriculum through the AWE program, combining academics with vibrant campus experiences. They complete 12 interdisciplinary projects each year, integrating subjects like English, science, math, arts, music, and design.

This approach is reinforced by a dynamic campus culture that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and global engagement. Students participate in MakerSpaces, robotics, and design thinking projects, while programs like Model United Nations and the Avenues World Course build global awareness. Arts and wellness are also central, with opportunities in music, drama, visual arts, athletics, and community action.

Students also take part in the Mini-Mester program every June. Normal classes stop. Students dive into special projects. Some go to global campuses in New York, São Paulo, or Silicon Valley. Others join study tours abroad. Past trips went to Germany, Indonesia, Bolivia, and Morocco. These are life-changing experiences.

In Grades 10 to 12, students follow the Avenues Upper Grades Program. It is built on the AWE framework. The core course is called Great Works. It blends deep reading with hands-on projects. All teaching is in English. This exam is well known. Universities in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong accept it. Students can answer in Chinese or English. This gives Chinese students a clear edge.

Each student picks four core subjects. They also choose two or three electives. Options span science, business, arts, and the humanities. University counsellors get involved from Grade 9. They help students pick the right subjects and plan strong applications.

Avenues Shenzhen is a candidate school for two major accreditations. These are WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and CIS (Council of International Schools). Both are top global standards for school quality.

University Outcomes

Avenues Shenzhen is a young school, but its results are strong. The Class of 2024 was the first to graduate. Every student got into their first-choice university. Admissions included Carnegie Mellon, the University of Toronto, and Wesleyan University.

The Class of 2025 had 17 students. All 17 got into their chosen schools. These included UC Berkeley, UCLA, NYU, Pomona College, and Waseda University in Japan.

Across the full Avenues global network, graduates have entered over 200 universities. These include Harvard, Yale, Stanford, McGill, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Sydney.

• Grades 1–9: RMB 305,000–314,000 per year
• Grades 10–12: Like middle school — confirm with the school in person

These fees do not include uniforms, school buses, activities, or travel costs. Boarding fees are separate. Some families may qualify for financial aid.
