The school's own figure, from its written reply in October 2026, is approximately RMB 173,400 per year. That covers tuition (RMB 138,000), room (RMB 15,000), meals (approximately RMB 14,400) and textbooks (RMB 6,000). It does not include exam fees, uniform, bedding or any deposit. The school has not published a fee notice. Alifa recommends asking for a full written cost breakdown before paying any deposit. 3 Is there a tuition discount for foreign families? Yes. The school runs an International Student Scholarship that reduces tuition for eligible foreign families. To qualify, at least one parent must be a foreign national and the student must hold a foreign passport. The discount applies to tuition only — room, meals and books remain at full price. The written terms give no percentage. Two school contacts have described the discount as half price on tuition, but no written confirmation of the percentage exists. The school says the scholarship normally continues to graduation once approved, is reviewed each semester, and can be withdrawn for serious discipline problems. 4 Does MCJ issue a Chinese high school diploma? No. The school told Alifa in 2026-09 that graduates do not receive a Chinese high school diploma. They receive IGCSE and A-Level certificates from the British exam boards. This means the standard direct route into Chinese state universities through the gaokao system is closed. Some Chinese universities, including Zhejiang University, do accept foreign students through an overseas-student pathway using HSK scores, A-Level results and a school certification (CSCA). 5 What is the weekend rule at MCJ? MCJ is a five-day boarding school. Students leave campus on Friday at 16:00 and must return by Sunday at 18:00\. Students can stay at the weekend if they notify the teacher in advance; they receive simple meals at the primary school restaurant, not the high school buffet. There is no school bus for high school students. Any family not based in Jinhua needs a concrete plan for how students spend Friday and Saturday nights. 6 What are MCJ's university outcomes? MCJ has had four graduating classes. The school gave Alifa figures in writing in October 2026: 2023 — 26 graduates, 112 offers; 2024 — 11 graduates, 78 offers (small class due to pandemic-era recruitment); 2025 — 32 graduates, 208 offers; 2026 — 57 graduates, 279 offers. The school's results graphic shows offers to destinations including UK (190), Australia (89), USA (10) and Hong Kong (8). An offer is not the same as a place taken. High-speed rail from Yiwu Station to Jinhua North takes about 11 minutes; then add time to reach the campus by taxi or metro. The school's directions use West Shuangxi Road station on the Jinyidong Line as the nearest metro stop, with a 15-minute taxi from there to campus. The foreign-family International Student Scholarship, if confirmed at half price on tuition, would bring the total closer to RMB 104,400 a year all-in — competitive for a British curriculum school. University outcomes across four cohorts include strong UK and Australian destinations, with 57 graduates in the most recent class. **Consider carefully** if you need a school that holds a formal foreign-student approval — MCJ is still applying, which creates uncertainty. If you need a Chinese high school diploma alongside the British qualification, MCJ cannot provide one. If full seven-day boarding is required, MCJ’s five-day rule means you need a local plan for weekends.
