[Dipont Education (狄邦教育)](https://www.dipont.com/about-us/) has been a big name in China’s international curriculum for years. But there isn’t much detailed information about it in English. This guide brings together its corporate history and leadership. It also covers all seven independent K–12 schools. Plus, it includes the public schools that offer A-Level, AP, and IB programmes.

## What Is Dipont Education?

Dipont Education is the trading name of a group based in Shanghai. The official registered entity is [Shanghai Dipont Education Management Co., Ltd.](https://www.dipont.com/about-us/) (上海狄邦教育管理有限公司), registered in May 2004 with RMB 20 million in registered capital. The Dipont brand itself is older, tracing back to 1990\. It began in Australia as a private firm helping Chinese students with visas and studying abroad. In 1994, it shifted its focus to mainland China.

Dipont has two main business lines. Confusing them is the most common mistake people make about the company.

The partner-school model came first. Dipont was the [first Cambridge International Examinations partner in China](https://www.dipont.com/about-us/history/), in 2003\. In 2004, it opened its first A-Level centre at **the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China (RDFZ)** in Beijing. The independent-school model began a decade later, following a 2014 agreement with **King’s College School, Wimbledon (KCS)**, to create separate bilingual campuses.

## Company History: From Visa Consultancy to School Operator

Dipont’s evolution has three phases. It began as a study-abroad consultancy in the 1990s. It evolved into a [curriculum centre inside public schools from 2003 onward](https://www.dipont.com/about-us/history/). It became a school founder starting in 2014.

Dates come from Dipont’s own official history page, cross-checked against school-specific announcements. Where a date is disputed by conflicting Dipont-affiliated sources, that is noted.

1990 

[Dipont was founded in Australia](https://www.dipont-edu.org/about-dipont/) as a private emigration and visa consulting company, helping Chinese students go abroad.

1994 

The company moves into mainland China. Offices open in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and more cities.

2003 

Dipont partners with **Cambridge International Examinations**, becoming its [first partner in China](https://www.dipont.com/about-us/history/).

2004 

Shanghai Dipont Education Management Co., Ltd. is formally registered. The same year, Dipont opens its [first A-Level curriculum centre at RDFZ in Beijing](https://www.dipont.com/about-us/history/) — the model that would define its first decade.

2009 

Dipont starts a college-counselling programme in its partner schools, described as the first of its kind in Chinese public education. *Note: one source links 2009 to AP-programme authorisation; another says 2005\. Dipont’s official materials give no year. Treat the AP-authorisation date as uncertain.*

2011 

Dipont gets approval to run IB programmes. It begins with the IB Diploma Programme at five partner schools.

2014 

Dipont signs an MOU with **King’s College School, Wimbledon (KCS)** to create K–12 schools in China. This marks the shift from curriculum provider to school founder.

2018 

The first two independent schools open: **Nanwai King’s College School Wuxi** and **RDFZ King’s College School Hangzhou**.

2019 

**Nanjing Foreign Language School Yuhua International School** opens (NFLS + Nanjing government). Dipont also founds **Wuxi Yinghe Bilingual School** independently the same year.

2020 

**Shanghai Huaer Collegiate School Kunshan** opens (now Dipont Huayao Collegiate School Kunshan), developed with East China Normal University No. 2 Affiliated High School.

2021 

**Dipont KCS Chengdu** opens; full capacity planned for 2,100+ students aged 3–18.

2022 

Wuxi and Hangzhou both drop “King’s College School” from their names, rebranding as **Dipont School of Arts and Science**.

2025 

**Dipont KCS International High School (Zhonghui Campus)** opens in Shenzhen — a joint project with KCS and Zhonghui Education Group, with 120 senior-high students in its first cohort. **Wuxi Yinghe** is folded into the Wuxi flagship as its Huishan Campus.

## Who Leads Dipont Education? Leadership & Governance

Dipont is privately held. It does not share details about its owners or investors. There is no public information on funding, M&A, or IPO history, and no official source confirms any of this. This guide will not speculate. What is publicly documented is its leadership team:

Business records show **Huang Yingzi** is the legal representative of the company that runs Dipont. This name differs from **Benson Zhang**, who is named as founder and CEO in all official Dipont sources. In Chinese companies, it is common for the legal representative to differ from the founder or CEO — they often hold separate roles. No official Dipont material directly explains the difference. Treat the two as separate roles, not as the same person.

Ownership and governance are quite different between them. Each school’s details are listed below. This matters more than the marketing pages show.

In 2025, Dipont folded a second, previously separate campus into this school as its **Huishan Campus**. That campus, **Wuxi Yinghe Bilingual School (无锡英禾双语学校)**, had been founded independently by Dipont in 2019\. Dipont has a new campus. It is the first one in South China, delivering international high school programmes through A-Level, AP and IGCSE. Like Nanjing, it is a three-way project rather than a Dipont-founded school outright. Zhonghui Education Group runs the area. Dipont gives the curriculum. KCS provides staff and management.

Dipont planned to open Changzhou King’s International School in December 2018\. They signed an agreement with the Changzhou Tianning district government and a local partner. The school would be branded as King’s College School and serve students aged 3 to 18\. It was expected to open in 2021 and hold about 3,000 students. However, the school never opened.

By 2026, Dipont refers to the Changzhou project as “additional school projects” still in development. There is no campus, opening date, or name listed. After seven years, it appears more like a shelved project than an active one. Dipont does have a presence in the city at Changzhou Senior High School, where it runs an Advanced Placement centre — but that is separate from the proposed KCS campus. That campus opened in Shenzhen in 2025.

## Dipont’s Partner-School Network: A-Level, AP & IB Centres

Before Dipont started its own school, it focused on placing international “curriculum centres” in Chinese public high schools. This is still its biggest area. The host school is a public school. Dipont offers an international qualification. They also supply expatriate teachers and manage academics for one cohort. Dipont’s own site no longer publishes a single master list of every active centre.

Dipont’s history page states it has [“almost 30” partner schools](https://www.dipont.com/about-us/history/) now. This is up from about 25–26 in 2018–2020\. The growth has been steady and gradual, not a sudden increase. The 23 above are the centres we could verify against a live, current Dipont or partner-school source. Dipont lacks a single group-wide accreditation. Each curriculum has its own examining body. Accreditation belongs to the individual school or centre, not to Dipont as a whole.

Is there a Dipont or King's College School in Changzhou? + 

Not an operating one. Dipont announced a King’s College School in Changzhou’s Tianning district in late 2018, set to open in 2021 for about 3,000 students aged 3 to 18\. However, **it never opened**. As of 2026, Dipont still lists the Changzhou project as in development.
